SF series Stress gauge
This gauge is sensitive not only in axial direction but also in transverse direction and the sensitivity of transverse direction is proportional to the Poisson's ratio of the specimen. Also the gauge is not sensitive to shearing strain. Accordingly the output of the gauge is proportional to the stress of the axial direction. The stress along the gauge axis can be measured easily.
