Strain Checker FGMH-2B / FGMH-3B
Now compatible with round bars 50 mm diameter or larger, enabling tie-bar clamping force measurement.
The FGMH-2B and FGMH-3B feature stronger magnetic holding force, allowing secure attachment to round shafts 50 mm or greater in diameter. When mounted on tie bars in an injection molding machine's clamping unit, these models enable direct measurement of mold clamping force.

Strain Checker FGMH-2B

Mounted on a Ø50 mm round bar
Previous Strain Checker models were designed primarily for flat surfaces. The new FGMH-2B and FGMH-3B expand measurement versatility by enabling mounting on round or curved surfaces 50 mm diameter or larger.
Successor models to FGMH-2A and FGMH-3A.
■Tie Bar Clamping Force Measurement
In injection molding, clamping force directly impacts the quality of molded products. Tie bars guide mold opening and closing while bearing the clamping load during the closed position.
By attaching the Strain Checker FGMH-2B to a tie bar, strain generated during clamping is measured. Using the tie bar's diameter and elastic modulus (Young's modulus), this strain is converted into clamping force (load value).
The diagram illustrates tie-bar clamping force measurement using the FGMH-2B with the handheld DH-14A unit. The DH-14A converts axial strain into clamping force (load value*), with direct strain reading also available.
Compatible tie-bar diameter range: 50–150 mm
*Load value display requires tie bar diameter and elastic modulus (Young's modulus).
