New EC-2 Adhesive for Strain Gauges

Enables Bonding Below the Phase Transformation Temperature of Aluminum Alloys

EC-2 strain gauge adhesive is a two-component, heat-curing epoxy-based adhesive. When the hardener (Component B) is added to the base resin (Component A) contained in a glass bottle and mixed, it becomes a transparent yellow liquid ready for use.

The mixed EC-2 adhesive is applied using the supplied brush.

As a heat-curing adhesive, it hardens when heated at a specified temperature under pressure using a jig or similar fixture. It offers a wide operating temperature range, making it suitable for long-term strain measurement and the fabrication of strain gauge transducers.
After mixing, the adhesive has low viscosity, enabling a thin and uniform bond line. This reduces variations in coating thickness and helps reduce measurement dispersion.
Low-temperature curing is possible at 100℃ for 4 hours, making it suitable for bonding aluminum alloys where heat input must be minimized. In addition, it can withstand short-term measurements at temperatures up to 370℃, making it also suitable for bonding HZF strain gauges.
